Pitotstatic Transponder Testing
The FAA states that no aircraft can operate IFR in controlled airspace unless their pitotstatic system and its components have been tested by an approved testing station with calibrated equipment in the last 24 calendar months.
The FAA also requires that anyone using a transponder (required in Class A, B, or C airspace and above 10,000ft AGL) must have had that transponders tested by an approved testing station with calibrated equipment in the last 24 calendar months.
Clear Sky Aviation is an FAA approved testing station. We are located at Charlottesville Airport (KCHO) but will also travel to the following airports: Culpeper, Shannon, Stafford, Louisa, Orange, Gordonsville, Farmville, Eagles Nest, and Shenandoah. So make an appointment at 434-284-5109 to bring us your aircraft or we can come to you at one of these airports. See our rates and approved aircraft manufacturers below. The testing can be completed in a single day as long as there are not significant leaks or equipment failures.
